I currently serve as the Senior Weather Producer/IT Support at WeatherNationTV. I currently am responsible for maintaining a network of more than 25 workstations. It is my on-going responsibility to make sure all of these workstations are maintained and continually updated with both hardware and software in order to run according to necessary specifications. I am also required to be on call, work remotely, etc. as part of my position as there is a 24/7 demand with my position to keep a national television network on-air during significant weather events around the country.Through other positions during my career I have had the opportunity to learn different skills including customer service, back end and front end processes, mobile applications and devices, streaming services/platforms, server systems, basic scripting, redundancy, and user experience. I believe that having an extensive background in one field is important but the exposure to many different aspects is equally a strength. This allows me the ability to understand new, innovative ideas while not being close-minded to change.I take a great pride in staying informed with the latest information technology trends including new operating system updates, overall best practices, security concerns, etc. I am currently in the process of completing certifications listed on my resume and strongly believe that continuously learning is vitally important especially in a career field that is constantly changing and evolving. In my current role, it is my responsibility to ensure the team I work with is cognizant and trained on the best practice in their daily work processes both in terms of hardware but also software.
