About Peter Hansen

Physicist and Data Scientist: I am a passionate learner with a PhD in Physics from the University of Minnesota. I want to discover the mathematical rules that lie beneath the surface of the physical and social world. I have done research in the field of High Energy Physics and am bringing that experience to new unique problems. I have pursued research to satisfy my passion to develop innovative approaches to problems. Physicists have a unique perspective on problems. I see the world through numbers, understanding that any measurement or calculation has uncertainty that cannot be ignored.In my graduate school career, I have focused on data analysis, simulation and visualization,developing tools which have directly contributed to the largest scientific endeavor in theworld, making the most precise measurements of fundamental particles with the Large HadronCollider (LHC) at CERN.Strengths: developing complex efficient algorithms, reducing data to understandable visualizations which tell the story behind the results. Effectively communicate with people from all backgrounds.
