I am currently working at pets at home as a store colleague/relief dog groomer. I have aspirations for another job in the animal industry. Often inspired to become a professional pet sitter and dog walker. I am happy to work in other animal related fields. I strive to be as ethical as possible. Through out my profile you will notice I have worked in a range of jobs both animal related and non-animal related with lots of transferable skills. One skill which you can't go to university or college is customer service and people skills. While a good background is good having emotional intelligence is key when dealing with people. In my spare time I do lots of running, cycling, swimming, weight lifting, spinning, yoga and keeping fit in general. I enjoy nature and care for my animals in my leisure time. I am up for learning new pursuits in 2017 I learnt the Ukulele and when I have time I play in various music circles and open mic nights. Also when I have time I am passionate about environmental protection there I help in beach clean ups and litter picks to benefit the local community. When I lived in North Northumberland I was involved in the Berwick Upon Tweed constituency green party where I worked as part of a team of volunteers to campaign in elections for local politics and general elections. I helped candidates such as Tom Stewart, James Jobson and Rachel Roberts when they stood for the seats they contested. As I have since moved over the border to Scotland I have been involved in the Scottish Greens. In May 2022 I stood in the local elections getting 245 first preference votes getting 5.8% of the vote.

Summer RangerBerwickshire Marine Reserve Jun 2022 - Aug 2022Eyemouth, Scotland, United KingdomI was appointed in the role of a voluntary ranger for the summer months of June, July and August. My role included staffing the information trailer at St. Abbs, where I informed people about the reserve. The role also involved working with children to make them aware of the marine environment and local environmental issues. For example I have led a litter picking session with the local primary school. I did rock pool sessions and nurdle hunts in the summer holidays when the kids were off school. I also helped in the maintenance of the lobster hatchery which opened on the 1st July 2022. This is an education centre aiming to teach the public about lobsters and species which live in the marine environment. I spoke to the public about the lobsters in hatchery and educating them on lobsters in the wild. As well as our plan to continually release them into the sea. I did boat tours which involved me acting as a guide giving information out about the wildlife in the reserve.

East Berwickshire Ward CandidateScottish Green Party Mar 2022 - May 2022Eyemouth, Scotland, United KingdomI put myself down as a candidate for the Scottish Borders Greens in the 2022 Council elections. This was because I'm passionate in people, animals and the environment. I also feel it is good to give everyone the opportunity to vote Green.I recieved 245 first preference votes, which was 5.8% of the vote. 86 votes more than last time a candidate stood back in 2017. This was a positive election for the Scottish Borders Greens as we managed to get one councillor in for Galashiels and District. The vote share has increased in all wards with more people voting green. -
Press OfficerGreen Party Of England And Wales May 2019 - Dec 2019North NorthumberlandI took on the role of press officer it was my intention to write letters highlighting we are not a single issue party. I wrote letters on current issues such as:Universal credit and link to benefit poverty. Plastic pollution and the link to environmental destruction. Why Berwick Upon Tweed such have a pride festival if Alnwick hosted Northumberland Pride.Due to my personal circumstances I have since moved over the border and joined the Scottish Greens as I felt it was only right to do this I am no longer press officer. But I did enjoy writing letters to the local newspaper highlighting issues we were passionate about. -
Campaign VolunteerGreen Party Of England And Wales Jan 2015 - Dec 2019North NorthumberlandWith a keen interest in politics, human rights, animal welfare and a healthy environment. I decided to join and campaign for the green party of England and Wales. This has made me passionate about the power of political and charity campaigns.During the 2015 election campaign I saw it as my duty to campaign to increase the green vote in the Berwick Upon Tweed Constituency. We managed to get 1,488 votes which was 3.7% of the vote. While this is not a huge percentage of the votes the Berwick Upon Tweed Branch only began in January 2015 and this coincided with a rise in national support for the green party. I have also helped out in the Berwick Young Greens. Where it is our mission to get younger people involved in politics as they are the future. During the local elections of 2017 for Northumberland County Council I helped campaign for candidate and friend James Jobson in the Wooler Ward. James came third just a few votes behind the Liberal Democrats beating the Labour candidate by a large amount if votes. There was over one thousand votes for the Conservative candidate, so we were up against the odds. Duties included door to door leafleting, making meeting contributions, street campaigning and being in charge of social media content. -
