Organizer II: July 2014 to April 2017:Internal Organizing/Representation (Nursing Homes):• Developed worksite campaigns and organized workers to take direct action in their workplace to address group issues • Processed grievances, represented workers in meetings with management• Found and developed workplace leaders and trained them to become stewards• Helped nursing home workers across Chicago Fight For $15 and a fair contract as part of the 2015 SEIU HCIIMK nursing home master contract campaign covering 10,000 nursing home workers across Illinois External Organizing- (Nursing Homes, Home Care, Hospitals):• Developed worksite campaigns and actions based on group issues• Built and supported Organizing Committees through which workers exercised leadership • Helped develop workers to become capable of executing important union organizing roles ensuring members the chance to grow, learn, and lead• Debriefed other organizers, assisted in assessments, and reliably reported campaign statistics• Trained, mentored and supervised new staff and member organizers in basic organizing skills• Part of several successful organizing drives at nursing homes and skilled home health agencies in Chicago, St. Louis, and Central Illinois.Organizer I: August 2013 to July 2014•Assisted workers in home healthcare, child care, nursing homes, and hospitals in building their union through one-on-one organizing conversations in their homes and at work sites as part of dynamic external organizing campaigns• Experience working on traditional NLRB, neutrality agreement, and card check campaigns• Used data collection skills for preliminary campaign research and tracking numbers in VAN• Created promotional materials and other graphics for use during organizing drives
