Building on past experience now designing propulsion systems utilizing hybrid drive technology and the inclusion of autonomous un-manned boat operation.Past areas of expertise include aerodynamics/hydrodynamics, motion control as applied to motor yachts and ships and the design of many mechanical system devices for a variety of applications mainly in the marine field, especially the sports fishing market. Director - Mechanical EngineeringChris Craft Corporation 1969 - 1974Pompano Beach, FloridaThrough the use of cost analysis, showed that using manual hydraulic steering was less expensive than installing low cost mechanical parts because the addition of flybridges caused a huge increase in installation labor with the mechanical system. This, because Chris Craft was, at that time, the largest yacht builder, led to the general adoption of hydraulic steering throughout the industry. I also worked with Ford Motor Company on trial installations of their diesel fueled gas turbine engine which, unfortunately, never came to fruition. The engine was incredibly quiet, to the extent that when sitting on deck at full speed you could only hear the water and the whine of the marine gears.During this period, with the approval of C*C, I acted as consultant to Vickers Hydraulics in the development of a new all hydraulic stabilizer design, the Vickers Dol-Fin which ultimately, after acquisition by Van Dusen and Meyer and design improvements of my suggestion, was renamed as the Naiad stabilizer which became the industry standard for many years.
