The Wycombe Environment Centre was been created to raise awareness of environmental issues and encourage local communities in to choose a more sustainable way of living. I provide advice and support to the Board of Trustees and Centre Manager.

Phil joined Capgemini’s Sustainability team in late 2010 as Sustainability Delivery Manager, responsible for the delivery of environmental impact reduction projects, before being promoted to lead the Environment Programme for Capgemini UK. Phil was responsible for developing environmental strategy, including Capgemini’s Net Positive ambition, delivering performance improvement and ensuring environmental compliance.Phil provided strategic direction and leadership on environmental practices to the Capgemini Sustainability Board and was a member of the Sustainability Leadership Team. Phil worked closely with senior executives (including Chairman and CEOs), the wider business and key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the strategy was both challenging but also clearly understood by the business and had measurable impact on the organisation. During his tenure Capgemini made excellent progress with its key environmental objectives, including: Reducing headline emissions by 28%Reducing business travel emissions by 22% Reducing office energy consumption by 41%Improving data centre efficiency by 28%Diverting more than 99% of office waste from landfillIn addition, Phil: Expanded the ISO14001 certified Environmental Management System to cover 24 sites and 9,500 employees and oversaw the implementation of ISO50001Led Capgemini’s involvement as founder members of the Net Positive Working GroupDeveloped a highly successful corporate relationship with the Wildfowl and Wetlands TrustImplemented a climate change risk assessment and appropriate mitigation measuresImplemented a carbon accounting solutionImplemented a network of electric vehicle charging pointsContributed to reporting and disclosure submissions (EMAS, CDP, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, BITC CR Index etc..) enabling Capgemini to win awards and recognition, including CDP Climate Performance Leadership Index, Platinum status in BITC CR Index and various awards

Phil was responsible for managing multi-million pound projects for external clients including national and local government and global private sector clients. He was certified under the Capgemini Engagement Manager Programme, benefiting from extensive training in both project management methods and principles, including integration of offshore development teams and leadership. Phil was also a mentor to junior staff.Selected project:Delivered a new internet and intranet based software and infrastructure solution in support of a major, Government revenue generating campaign. The project had an extremely aggressive timescale with hard stop dates and frequent media coverage of the campaign. Replaced the existing Project Manager two months into the project. Re-planned delivery and rebuilt client relationship, forging a strong and positive working relationship and obtaining very positive feedback from client at project and board levels. Responsible for more than 2,500 man-days of effort, delivered through direct and indirect project teams and multiple third parties. Managed the contracting process and a multi-million pound budget. Ensured that all teams bought into the aggressive plans and then delivered against them - the service was delivered in line with client marketing in national press.
