Duties and Responsibilities1. Direct the preparation of and perform final review of University-wide financial reports for internal and external requirements.2. Direct the preparation of, and perform final review of bondholder reports in compliance with indenture requirements.3. Review and analyze monthly Health Services Facilities System financial statements prepared by Hospital Finance staff with the assistance of Financial Reporting staff.4. Consult with the Controller on University-wide system implementations to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and consistency with accounting practices.5. Represent the Office of University Accounting & Financial Reporting on University and external teams regarding financial reporting, investment accounting, debt accounting, lease accounting, plant funds/capital projects accounting, equipment accounting, or other areas of expertise.6. Work with UROs on interactive needs; ensure inclusion of their information in the University’s annual financial report accurately and timely.7. Direct the coordination and analysis of University-wide data and reporting for upper management to keep them apprised of current financial performance and practices, as requested.8. Direct the preparation of analytical reports to ensure compliance with State of Illinois and internal policies, guidelines, and procedures.9. Participate or lead in the development and review of financial policies and procedures.10. Lead or participate in the monitoring the three Universities’ compliance with State of Illinois and internal policy and procedures as they relate to general financial issues and reporting requirements.11. Interface with internal and external auditors to assist in resolution of University-wide financial audit issues and the completion of the annual financial audit. Assist the Controller with responding to audit findings as needed.

Participate or lead in the development and review of financial policies and procedures and implementation of new accounting standards.10. Monitor the three campuses’ compliance with State of Illinois and University policy and procedures as they relate to general financial issues and reporting requirements.11. Resolution of University-wide financial audit issues and interface with internal and external auditors regarding the annual financial audit. 12. University-wide reporting practices and recommendation of procedure/format changes.13. Oversee and approve reconciliation of University transactions
