Throughout his career, he has occupied pivotal senior management roles in Asset Integrity for prominent pipeline operators and several renowned engineering consultancies. Currently serving as the Director of Major Projects, Phillip is entrusted with oversight of significant projects, characterized by their unique combinations of complexities. This includes energy transitions, incident investigations and responses, regulatory reactions, potential liabilities, other sensitivities, and projects under the microscope of litigation and regulatory scrutiny.Among his notable project involvements are; the 1999 Bellingham Pipeline failure, wherein Phillip spearheaded the post-failure ILI and integrity initiatives; the 2010 Deepwater Horizon disaster, during which he co-directed a comprehensive two-year blow-out preventer (BOP) root cause analysis program, liaising directly with the US Department of Energy and other key stakeholders; the San Bruno pipeline mishap in 2010, where he piloted the PG&E post-incident integrity management and reviewed and enhanced technical procedures.Mr. Nidd possesses in-depth familiarity with oil and gas industry regulations in both Canada and the U.S.A. He is well-versed with AMPP, API, and ASME pipeline standards, including DOT 195, DOT 192, ASME B31.8s, NEB OPR 99, and CSA Z662-15.
