I am a manager who likes to stay hands on, with a number of business interests. After a short career as a software developer, I joined the IT recruiting industry in '93, developed my management style over 8 years with my first employer, held a few Senior Management positions, and migrated from the UK to Australia, and worked as a GM for a few years working for Julia Ross in her Public Listed Recruiting business.Founding an ICT focused group (Endor) in 2009, I grew the business from an initial IT recruiting focus (2dSearch), adding a marketing division (CMA), a training division (Innerlyse), a Remote Developer Professional Services division (RemDev), an inbound migrant recruitment division (TEXPAT), and a micro-gig SME recruiting division (HookSME). Endor Group now reports revenues of around $7m pa.I remain a Technologist at heart, regularly leading Tech discussions at the national TECHLED micro-conferences that I have organised since 2009 https://www.techled.com.au/. As a Senior ACS Member and Certified ICT Professional under the ACS Professional Standards Scheme, my Technology involvement and knowledge holds professional recognition from Australian federal, state and territory governments. https://www.acs.org.au/professionalrecognition/professional-standards-scheme.htmlSeeking variety and further industry networking opportunities, I joined the Board of the Master of Business & Technology (MBT) elite MBA at UTS; the Board of Directors of the Project Management Institute Sydney (PMI) and the Branch Executive Committee at the Australian Computer Society (ACS). Contributing to Strategy; Performance; Company Culture; Resources and Business Development. My work with UTS has grown in multiple directions, and I now sit on advisory boards for schools within the Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT), play the role of the brutally honest judge on the IT undergrad "Shark Tank", and deliver lectures in intercultural communication skills as a Casual AcademicI also work as a Technology Industry event MC and speaker, working alongside International Speakers with Technology Companies and Tech Event organisations (www.philredding.com)Whilst I have been a senior manager for a long time now, I maintain a hands on / execution style. I love working out people: what makes them tick; what they are good/bad at; and where they want to be heading. I am quite good at doing this with other people, and ‘ok’ at doing it with myselfPlease feel free to contact me. I am happy to connect networks with most people and do not report attempted connections as SPAM

Director & Principal2Dsearch Mar 2009 - PresentSydney, Nsw, Au2dSearch 'search' only - as in you will not see a position advertised by us on traditional job boards. Our preferred method of candidate identification is via 2 degrees of separation, allowing us to gain valuable insight into the people that we find.We undertake proactive search for new candidates via social media, referral and the web. We do not use internet job boards to advertise positions as we feel that our customers can perform this themselves. Our intention is to focus on the Technology Sector, where we have strongest networks and knowledge. Key personnel who make final candidate decisions at 2dSearch are all Technology professionals with Tech education and ACS membership. 2dSearch are also one of a very small number of Tech recruiting companies in Australia to hold a SFIA rate card license, allowing us to benchmark consultant and candidate income levels against the SFIA framework. When our closest customers ask us to find non Technology people, we tend to accept the challenge, and have been successful in securing team members for this customers across Finance, HR, Marketing, Legal, Supply Chain and General Administration. -
