CurrentI work as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for databases like MySQL and AWS Cloud databases such as RDS & Aurora, providing support for other databases like PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, AWS Keyspace, Redshift, Elastic Cache. I collaborate with system architects, business directors, and product managers to establish requirements and system design. As part of the DevOps SRE team, my responsibilities include building HA, failover solutions, and providing support for production database setups & 24/7 DBA support. I also focus on AWS infrastructure security, database security, and AWS cost optimization.Key Accomplishments: - Migrated from On-Prem MySQL to AWS Aurora MySQL managed service. - Upgraded On-Prem MongoDB and migrated it to AWS EC2-based MongoDB. - Migrated On-Prem Cassandra to AWS Keyspace managed service. - Data Migration from Aurora MySQL to Aurora PostgreSQL. - Automated database management and infrastructure using Terraform. - Enhanced database security (storage encryption, connection encryption) and other AWS infrastructure security (TLS upgrades, EBS encryption) using the Prisma tool. - Optimized costs for AWS cloud databases and other AWS services, including storage (GP, GP2, migrating EC2 instances to Graviton-based instances), S3, CloudWatch, and other storage optimizations. - Implemented Multi-region database high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies. Onboarded NOC for L1 database support, including training sessions, runbooks, and access. - Aligned DevOps for L2 support, deployment & automations. - Developed a framework for DB changes code review during development. - Actively involved in sprint (Jira), Architectural Review Board (for Architectural changes), Change Management System (operation changes CHG), Retrospection (for INC’s), POC’s.
