About Aj Larson

My career has certainly taken a roundabout path. My first major was Computer Science, but within a few years I was closing in on a degree in History, until life happened and I had to leave school for a time. Fast forward, and here I am, with Computer Science degrees, and many years of experience in QA and full-stack development. I thought I'd be teaching history classes, and instead I got to use my software knowhow to kick off a bootcamp!I love bringing my experience breaking software and championing the customer as a QA to the development sphere, analyzing tasks and flows critically and avoiding hiccups before they've ever occurred. Opening an app on my phone, or a web page in my browser and knowing that I helped to construct that, and to make it an even more amazing experience for our users, is extremely satisfying.

Quality Assurance is the best thing that happened to my career. It's never been a flashy or glamorous thing to anyone looking to get into the tech industry, but it has provided me with challenges and new opportunities at every turn. It is hugely gratifying to see software released into the wild, see it perform well, and know you were a part of getting it out there. There is a lot more to making software safe and reliable than people would think, and not much exists out there to get people started other than on the job training. I'm excited to share best practices and techniques that I and other industry experts use every day in a full time boot camp experience, where students can enter with very little tech experience and leave with a solid skill set; more so than many established Quality Assurance professionals. It's a booming market, I'm excited to be a part of the program, a part of helping people get into an exciting and lucrative career!
