Postgraduate research assistant at Dublin City University with degrees in Analytical Chemistry (M.S.); Forensic Science with a minor in Chemistry (B.S.)Current Ph.D. research is focused on developing a portable, microfluidic lab-on-a-disc (LOAD) system for the rapid, reliable detection of phosphate in freshwater systems. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MATLAB software are used to develop the LOADs and analyze data. Later research will focus on long-term, passive sampling of phosphate in agricultural waterways using diffusive gradient in thin film sensors.Masters research experience focused on plasmonic nanoparticles studied using UV-Visible spectrophotometry, and dark field microscopy/spectroscopy. For this research, I wrote scripts and functions for MATLAB software for data processing and analysis and have processed computations using DDSCAT. I was also a teaching assistant for undergraduate teaching labs for instrumental and forensic chemistry utilizing the following instrumentation methods: UV-Visible spectrophotometer, ICP-OES, HPLC-UV-Vis, GC-MS, FTIR, and Raman.
