Cellulose Nano Crystal Extraction: Spearheaded the extraction of cellulose nanocrystals from innovative lignocellulosic waste biomasses. Structural and Crystalline Analysis: Conducted a comprehensive structural and crystalline analysis of extracted nanocellulose. Innovatively improved the nanocrystal isolation process by substituting hydrochloric acid for conventional sulfuric acid, resulting in thermally more stable cellulose nanocrystals. Additionally, executed a thorough degradation kinetic study, determining activation energies and enhancing the thermal stability of the nanocrystals.Hydroxy Propyl Modified Nanocellulose: Expanded on the hypothesis surrounding hydrogen bonding in hydroxy propyl modified nanocellulose. Investigated transitions in crystal structure post-introduction of pendant groups, and skillfully simulated the XRD pattern of altered nanocellulose. Successfully defended the hypothesis with empirical data, addressing reviewer's comments.Cellulose Nanocrystal Modification: Skillfully modified cellulose nanocrystals to confer a reactive reinforcement ability, enabling interaction with hydrophobic polymer matrices. Pioneered the development of bio-composites by integrating the modified cellulose nanocrystals during in-situ polymerization of the matrix.Maleic Anhydride-Modified Nanocrystals: Synthesized maleic anhydride-modified cellulose nanocrystals, unlocking their potential to interact with vinyl monomers during polymerization. Notably, discovered the fluorescence property of these modified nanocrystals under UV radiation, with promising anti-counterfeiting applications.Oxygen-Scavenging Polymer Development: Played a vital role in the development of an oxygen-scavenging polymer featuring 6α carbons, achieving a groundbreaking scavenging rate. This milestone represents the latest advancement in oxygen-scavenging technology to date.
