Working on a eight member team, my group tests and issues weekly releases for LMS software, without missing deadlines. Our procedures involve testing stories and testing defects, with the stories containing certain functionality that must be working correctly ahead of releases.

In this leadership position, I direct up to three QA Analysts within the IT department. In addition to testing corporate systems used throughout North America, I facilitate weekly triage meetings to review outstanding defects and recommend solutions. Tackling interviewing and hiring, I was instrumental in selecting new hires within our group. Some of the highlights from this role include:► Customized, created, and revised test cases and test templates, improving test coverage and results readability while implementing template use in future projects. ► Configured SharePoint parameters for defect tracking, improving issue traceability over prior inadequate vendor system.► Launched parser computer program to reduce time required for testing, easing time demands following group expansion.

A key member of Shaw’s sustainment team, I was lent out to the Greenfield project team to test internal systems relied upon by client facing staff, including order entry, order management, billing, mobile applications, and digital phone tracker. This role used HP Quality Center, Mingle, and Jira for documenting test cases and defects, as well as automated testing in Ruby, Selenium, Jmeter, and C#. Honored to participate on diverse projects, my accomplishments included:► Training new hires on processes and systems, as well as teaching part of a C# course.► Completed proof of concept for an Oracle Forms Project.

In this detail-oriented position I reviewed digital phone order information and corrected mistakes while communicating with order creators. I also recommended quality assurance process improvements including adding additional tasks to the account checklist.

Completing a yearlong internship while finalizing my degree in Computer Science, I applied software engineering testing techniques to implement new software, resolve issues, and prioritize problems. Another key aspect of this role was chairing and documenting weekly Change/Problem Control Management meetings. A major project completed during this role was installing a new Problem Change Control System (Remedy) for staff in Calgary, Edmonton, and Toronto. This included writing a training manual for the installation and use of Remedy. I also created terms of use for software and hardware usage for within Imperial Oil and Exxon Mobile.

Relying on my natural technical abilities, I identified the causes of computer viruses including W32blaster which required a system patch. I also gained experience in Apple Talk while working with diverse systems such as Windows and Macintosh and ensured all systems had updated anti-virus software installations.
