About Randy Baker

I’m passionate about applying new technologies and tools in inventive ways, to solve hard business problems. I actively seek out opportunities to collaborate to invent novel approaches that integrate new and existing technologies to meet the unique needs of a customer or end user. I favor showing rather than talking about solutions; POCs and demos are among my preferred tools for communicating effectively with business users. I take a hands on approach – understanding how the technology works is key, as is my ability to use data to tell a compelling story and to build consensus around a solution.I'm a seasoned IT professional with a proven track record of delivering enterprise applications that have real business value and that are efficient, scalable and sustainable. I have experience as an individual contributor as well as successfully managing teams to design, deploy and manage complex IT systems based on diverse technologies. Most recently I've worked in the areas of Enterprise Cybersecurity / Data Security, Enterprise Document Management, User Behavior Analytics, ETL, and SQL Databases.

Listed skills include Enterprise Architecture, Unix, Data Warehousing, Software Development, and 67 others.

The scope was enterprise-wide, spanning thousands of Windows file servers and appliances storing hundreds of terabytes of office documents. Activities include:Construction of a data warehouse using Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and SSIS to perform large scale ETL against the databases of several commercial security products in use at Fidelity into central reporting database.Construction of database views for cube generation, used in the enterprise security dashboard to facilitate remediation by content owners. In the course of this work the team secured millions of sensitive documents, reduced the risk of data loss and avoided costly SEC and HIPAA violations. In addition to the Data Discovery Program, I led the Enterprise Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Program at Fidelity from 2009 through 2015. Highlights include the deployment of McAfee Enterprise DLP and Device Control across 70,000 endpoints, including designing, testing and implementing numerous Fidelity-specific DLP policies and document classification rules. I acted as the DLP SME and was a member of an interdisciplinary team to deploy DLP functionality enterprise-wide across endpoints, servers and the network perimeter. Show less
