As a new IT Architect for IBM's HR Learning Tools team, I help design applications to support the corporate HR Learning organization. I work with senior architects to define the structure of systems and process components. I help to identify functional and non-functional requirements. I lead project managers and developers in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution.My emphasis is on security of IT systems and collection & control of data.

I support infrastructure for internal learning. I manage VMWare ESX and IBM's pSeries VIOS. Although no longer my primary role, I assist the hosting team with server installs, Linux & AIX configuration and installation issues, and manage the data center networking infrastructure. My primary role is IT Architect. I work with project managers and developers to implement custom solutions for IBM's internal learning.

I support a high profile internal application with an audience of 400K users across 100+ countries. I maintain all configuration files (JSON format) for this application, and work with the stakeholders and executives to make changes as required.I took on additional duties as a customer advocate for IBM’s learning hosting center. I am the customer interface between the hosting team and our internal customers. I facilitate system maintenance windows, requests for new hardware and applications, and manage any issues customers have with the hosting center. Along with these duties, I ensure compliance with IBM security standards related to hosting servers, protection of data, and ensure all technical procedures are in place. I perform audits for any exposure and instruct the hosting administrators on the changes needed. I’m also the backup team lead for the center, and support the Linux operating systems for the center.

I was the hosting team lead for IBM’s Center for Learning and Development organization. I ensured the integrity of IBM Learning operations within a data center environment.I served as the primary point of contact on a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week basis, in charge of coordinating critical disaster recovery procedures. I was the interface for the internal help desk during any escalations.I implemented security and quality control procedures which ensured full compliance with company standards and policies.I coordinated weekly staff meeting with my team to discuss departmental issues, project initiatives and action plans. I worked with internal customers, gathering requirements for new applications. I procured new hardware, software licenses, and managed all IT purchases for the department. I created budget projections and worked with IBM finance to ensure future hardware and software purchases were in line with projections. I generated quarterly statistical and department performance reports for senior management.I was asked to join a team supporting a high profile internal application in January 2010. I accepted the position and successfully handed the team lead position to a fellow hosting team member.

Between 2004 and 2006 I worked as a Contractor for IBM. In February 2006, I was asked to join IBM as a regular employee, which I accepted. I was brought into IBM as an Advisory Learning Specialist and promoted in 2008 to Senior Learning Specialist. During the 2004 – 2008 time-frame, I was the technical lead for IBM Learning's business intelligence community. I supported and maintained the Brio/Hyperion infrastructure for a Global community of IBM reporting professionals, along with several DB2 database systems. I worked with others to develop ETL processes from IBM data warehouses into learning’s data marts. In 2006 I accepted the positions of team lead for IBM’s learning business intelligence community. I developed new strategies for reporting, and implemented new applications to streamline report development. I developed and maintained internal web sites and services. During this time, IBM moved to a new LMS application. I worked with the LMS developers to ensure smooth transition of data between the legacy system and the new LMS. I traveled to Europe and Asia Pacific training new reporting professionals on the LMS Changes. I created Brio templates and developed automated reporting tools to improve efficiency. I communicated technological and security challenges with IBM executives, and ensured data privacy was enforced.

I joined IBM’s Enterprise Resource Group as a contractor (moving from IBM’s ERP desk side support role). I was a system administrator for a development, education, and testing data center. I managed the administration of AIX (RS/6000) and Windows NT/2000 servers. I worked with consultants to install proof of concept and training ERP applications (JDEdwards, Peoplesoft, and SAP). I worked with external customers to gain access and customize the test ERP applications.
