Robert deRosset serves clients primarily in the fields of construction, business, and product liability law. Robert is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and South Carolina and assists clients in both states. He tries cases at the state and federal level. He is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission to conduct mediated settlement conferences in Superior Court cases and uses his perspective as a seasoned litigator to assist parties to voluntarily resolve their disputes through mediation. Robert has also completed collaborative law training and advanced collaborative law training and he is part of the effort in North Carolina to expand collaborative law into construction and business law. He is an active member of the construction and products liability and complex torts practice groups of ALFA International. He is recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers® (2019, 2021) in the area of Construction Litigation and holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell.Prior to joining Young Moore in 2001, Robert practiced law for two years in Columbia, South Carolina and served as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in León, Nicaragua. He uses the Spanish language skills he gained in Nicaragua to better serve clients of Young Moore and to effectively mediate cases involving parties whose primary language is Spanish.When he is not working for his clients, Robert enjoys trail running, or running on the streets and greenways of Raleigh. He is a marathoner and novice ultra-marathoner who has not yet run one too many races. He is a fan of the Raleigh area, as well as North Carolina in general, and enjoys showing visitors what the region has to offer.
