As a USSYP Iowa Delegate, I represent my state and my community in a prestigious program that connects young leaders with senators, cabinet members, and other officials. I am passionate about civic engagement, human rights, and social justice, and I use my voice and platform to advocate for change. I have successfully led and contributed to several campaigns and initiatives that address issues such as equitable education, racial justice, and health disparities. For example, I launched a petition that resulted in the recognition of Eid holidays in the ICCSD school calendar, earning me a Human Rights Award and a Changemaker of the Year honor. I also hold leadership and editorial positions in various student organizations and publications, such as the Black Student Union, the Sudanese Student Association, and the West Side Story. In addition, I have pursued multiple certifications in leadership and medical research and professions from Stanford and Georgetown universities, enhancing my skills and knowledge in these fields. I am fluent in English and Arabic, and I enjoy learning about different cultures and perspectives.
