I was appointed to the Department of Homeland Security's Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee (DPIAC) on April 29, 2013 by Secretary Napolitano. The DPIAC committee provides assistance to DHS on programatic, policy, operational, administrative and technical issues within the department which may impact Personally Identifiable Information, data integrity and other privacy-related matters.

Privacy and Risk Officer Implementation and oversight of HIPAA and other data protection regulations. Chair of the Information Governance Committee, a cross-functional committee to improve and maintain programs and controls to meet required Federal, State and local country compliance regulations and standards for Privacy and Information Governance, specifically HIPAA and HITECH.  Implemented privacy and security controls, developed required policies, procedures & forms, conducted employee training and awareness campaigns, and identified areas requiring remediation activity.  Conduct compliance investigations, working as necessary with  Information Technology and Human Resources.Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the corporate risk management framework, and quarterly risk assessment process.  Working with departmental management to identify, document and categorize risks, existing controls, and necessary action plans to address new risks, and report results to corporate management.  Acted as Lead for Risk work-stream in Solvency 2 project.
