Responsible for maintaining and improving the equipment availability through technical assistance, training, troubleshooting guides, PM procedures, and stocking of spare parts.• Boosted yield on the VCEL laser oxidation process from 40% to over 85% by creating a program called “SteamBot”, which utilized a machine/process model to control the process.• Provided electro-mechanical technical assistance in the diagnostics and repair of all fabrication and metrology equipment, eliminating costly field service calls and contracts.• Brought the CVC and Unaxis sputtering tools from an almost daily down to a point where they virtually only go down for PMs.• Modified equipment, created spare parts for older unsupported equipment using SolidWorks. • Created a Windows wafer thickness measurement interface to MES for the polish and lapping processes that significantly reduced operator time and errors.• Support sputter, e-beam, plasma etch, metrology, spin tracks, aligners, steppers, and EPI reactors, as well as back end electrical test.• Created an equipment remote control interface for older (non SECS/GEM) tools by controlling the tools GUI. It behaves and looks like a GEM-HSMS interface on the network, and will interact with the tools GUI by activating buttons, navigating menus, retrieving text, or setting/selecting texts etc.• Work closely with process engineering to solve process related issues. Eliminated “white line” defect. Matched like tools.• Currently assigned to the metrology area supporting a wide array of test and measurement tools, and XRay diffraction.• Modified the Airco Temescal CV-14 ebeam supply regulator circuitry to eliminate the failure (shorting) of the high voltage NPN regulator transistor.• Wrote equipment maintenance specs, check lists, and troubleshooting guides.• Created equipment disk image backups for restoring failed hard drives for key equipment.• Created a patch to remove an old software dongle for a BIORAD HALL5200 tool.
