Production support at new manufacturing facility.

Initiating business improvements to generate cash within this already very progressive and successful engineering and manufacturing company. Implementing lean manufacturing techniques during new product introduction, improving existing production cells and systems which will then support and exceed current and future production targets.

Day to day running of all manufacturing requirements to meet daily production targets. Motivating and developing a skilled shopfloor workforce to continuously improve all manufacturing processes in line with lean concepts. Reporting daily to director level on KPI's and production planning.

Developing and implementing production systems in line with lean concepts. Process design and line balance to meet production requirements. Training team leaders and team members to develop an understanding of lean and the Modec Production System. Identify and procure tooling, jigs and equipment to support and make more efficient the manufacturing process. Assist in roll out of policies and procedures to attain ISO 9002 and ISO14001.

Develop, design and put into practice manufacturing processes in line with lean concepts. Create standard for process documentation, job element sheets and standardized work sheets. Build pre production trial vehicles to test the processes, design and implement the training standard for new team members.

Effective response to line calls, leading kaizen activity within the team, sustaining the 4's standard, liasing with engineering during takt change and model change, managing Practical Problem Solving activities, Hazard Awareness training and Quality Improvement.

Assembling vehicles strictly following standardized work within takt time and building in quality.

Responsible for acquiring sales orders throughout the UK for fasteners and labelling to be applied to casual garments such as jeanswear and jackets etc. Customers included Next, FCUK, Ciro Citterio and Firetrap. Involved in the graphic design of corporate logos for labelling purposes. Negociated contracts for large orders with major chain buyers.

Started working life as an office assistant working with the company accountant, duties included completing monthly and yearly end accounts and progressing to fully oversee various ledgers, also implemented first company IT system. Moved to sales and supervised a large stores. Along the way involved in many and varied shopfloor manufacturing activities.
