I grew up in East London and during my time in secondary education I developed an interest in business and sales, whilst at school I was identified as gifted and talented in maths and business studies. In my spare time I kept myself busy playing football, socialising and being involved in a range of other team sports. When I left school, I secured a place at ‘The Peter Jones Academy for Entrepreneurs’ which provided me the opportunity to meet like minded people. I thrived in this environment, and completed many challenges, including pitching to a panel of businessman from Orange TM presenting them with a new idea to help accelerate their sales. By the time I completed my studies, I knew sales gave me a real buzz! I was fortunate to secure an entry level role as a junior sales person in the healthcare sector, which provided some practical grounding. Within the same company I went on to undertake a number of roles including both administrative work, and even diverted away from my natural path for a while, taking on training in a patient -facing role. Whilst this wasn’t my ideal path, it did help me advance my communication skills and gave me a good exposure and understanding of what working within the healthcare sector was like. After a few years I knew this role wasn’t for me, I knew I need to follow my passion for sales and needed to move sectors. I undertook a PRINCE2 project management course to help strengthen my transferable skills. I secured an estimator role at Omega – and haven’t looked back. My role enables me to use my business acumen and numerical skills, along with my sales expertise. I completed my ATLAS Accreditation in Lightning protection, and ensured I met all the goals that were required by the business. I was promoted to a senior role of lead sales estimator last year, and now provide leadership to a small team. I pride myself in providing positive & effective leadership, encouraging team working and keeping the energy going. I am proud to say, through this role I have supported our team to be the best we can be, delivering all personal and team sales targets. I have unique set of skills, and a personality which is engaging, including a positive attitude which enables me to adapt to different work environments quickly. I am confident in contributing to the businesses I work for, always willing to offer new ideas, solutions, and energy, whilst at the same time being approachable, and always willing to share positive advice and help colleagues.
