Vision100 Black Men of Metropolitan Baton Rouge, Ltd. is a non-profit organization where African-American males step forward and assume community leadership, responsibility, and guidance roles. The organization serves as a catalyst to empower African-Americans to individually and collectively reach their full potential by maximizing the resources that foster and enhance achievement in education, and economic and community development.

My assignment with the organization focuses on identifying, engagement, cultivates, solicits, and stewards current and prospective donors in expanding their financial support of the work of the American Red Cross.

I specialize and sell the quality-line of products offered by Xfinity/Comcast: products of cable, internet, phone and alarm, and provide the customer with comprehensive service. My goal is not only to expand Xfinity/Comcast customer base but also to support the customer every step of the way. My emphasis on superior products and excellent selling experience to become the top-selling Xfinity/Comcast service representative.

The key job functions were focused on Fundraising and Event Management raising individual giving dollars and sponsorship dollars to ensure thecontinuation of educational messaging and research of heart disease in womenthrough corporate and individual giving. The Twin Cities Go Red For Women eventcurrently ranks in the top 3rd out of 387 events nationally. In this position I managed volunteer leader and recruited new committees while also working with top executive leaders and other volunteers to help raise funds and bring awareness to the community about heart disease in women to peer to peer fundraising efforts.Core job functions were focused on event planning and execution of the annual the Go Red For Women Lunch & Learn for up to 800 guests, featuring educational workshops, vendor exhibits, budget management, contract negotiation with venues and contractors for the luncheon and building the event program and identifying a keynote speaker.

Provided leadership to volunteer committee and team development to surpass the set objectives for the 2011 Relay for Life campaign. By using my previous management experience I accessed each event potential and engaged the volunteers to reach their full potential by identifying a positing from them and increasing the overall fundraising portfolio. Providing them with the tools to become successful, I engaged them and begin to search for new potential survivors, caregivers, teams, committee members and sponsors to join our movement. Through networking and presentations in the community I was able to educate individuals about the mission of the organization and show why Relay for Life was an essential community event for them to be involved with. The increases in teams participating and sponsors in the events and also build a positive alliance between profession and volunteers which lead to events that exceeded goal projections. Through my leadership I surpassed the set financial l objective of $223,000 net and raised $264,000 net which is an increase of 19% over goal in 2011-2012. In the New Orleans market I was able to engage community leaders to improve relationships with major team and donors and also utilize leads to meet with Fortune 500 CEO and University department heads to engage them in being involved with local fundraising opportunities within our market.

Managed and developed databases of foundations and individuals gifts; this included re-organization of files and creating a usable database where one did not previously exist. Responsible for tracking of metric program performance, and developing answers for replies of quarterly and final report to founders as outlined in the grant agreements. Major assignments included project management of updating website and implementing and managing online donations. I was also responsible project managing the submission of the Lennox Promise Grant to the United States Department Education, this included reviewing the materials needed with department managers and providing logistical support for gathering any necessary attachments as needed. Other responsibilities involved the scheduling conferences that focused on education opportunities for youth engaged within the various educational programs.

Begin career as an entry level professional, from there I received a promotion to the Outreach Director where I was responsible for 8 para- professionals; they provided program assistance to inner city youth through 66 in school and after school programs. I developed a network of community organizations to sponsor outreach outdoor and leadership programs in inner city of Minneapolis. Promoted from Outreach Director in Minneapolis to Field Director in the Saint Paul, MN office; this new assignment allowed me to provide leadership to six distinct districts. Assignment covered suburban and urban areas; under my management a team of six executives meet and exceeded objective assigned by the organizations board.Duties including providing daily service to this large geographic area; and managing the volunteer leadership and overseeing that programs were maintained in 289 different program units that provided service to over 10,000 youth and 3,000 volunteers. Under my leadership of my team of six employees we obtained finance and membership gains, improved retention, and increased the amount volunteer leadership positions. Also my creative fundraising ideas led to a major revamp of an event now know as the Million Dollar Day for Scouting, this is where the organization now is focused its efforts to raise one million dollars in a 24 hour time span.
