In many roles and currently as a School-based Behavioral Health Team Lead for Beech Acres Parenting Center, I’ve worked at Best Point Education and Behavioral Health and Beech Acres Parenting Center for 22 years serving children in the mental health field. I started in 2002 working on a child/adolescent psychiatric unit at a hospital. From extensive training in Crisis Prevention Intervention and the Teaching Family Model to years of experience planning and facilitating groups while managing difficult behaviors, I strive to make a difference in the lives of young people in my care. I’m currently doing that in a School-Based Team Lead position for Beech Acres Parenting Center at Mt. Washington Elementary and Kings Local School District. In 2018 and 2019 I visited Port au Prince, Haiti where I met at risk children who have experienced third world poverty along with natural disaster related trauma. These children live in grassroots orphanages sponsored by a company in America called Back2Back. My encounter with those young people reminded me how much I care about hurting children. I take this passion with me every day to work.
