GTE Sylvania - turned into Osram Sylvania - turned into Valeo Sylvania - turned into Valeo Lighting Systems North America.I have approximately a 30 year career as described below with this automotive lighting group throughout all the mergers and buy outs. I continue to manage the prototype department helping to develop the new lighting technologies for the future. I have recently been given the responsibility to manage the Styling group in our company that works with the automakers to help identify the look (signature) of new vehicles that will come in the next 5 years. The two groups work well together allowing us to build aesthetic model and vehicle mockups to direct new lighting awards to Valeo based on new styles and innovations. Watch out OLED's and Lasers are up next, just when we got used to LED's.

I started as an hourly employee at GTE Sylvania in 1985, and worked my way up to an manager of an Engineering Area where I could use my machining, optics, CAD design, and use my ability to work with my hands to create. GTE turned in to Osram which turned in to Valeo Sylvania. I have been blessed to work for a company that has supported to get my AS, BS, & MBA. My current position now allows me to work on the lighting technologies that will be on the road 5 years in the future. These new designs have allowed me to receive many patents. I've been in almost every design studio and helped form the way automotive lamps look on those new vehicles. It is a great job when you actually get to make the 1st part of your companies product. I have also been bless to have a great team that work to support our Valeo Sylvania future products.It's been a great ride so far!!!

Lead the Independent Aftermarket team for Valeo Sylvania - We developed (design, optics, & Tooled) and launched many automotive aftermarket technology solutions for SOE applications. Many of these technologies were later adopted on OE automotive lighting programs. The program timing was in 6 months from start to production, where normal OE program will take 24 months.
