Medea Creek Middle School

I currently teach Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, and Geometry and am incorporate apps, like Desmos and Geogebra, and projects into the courses to help students learn concepts in an alternative fashion.The textbooks we use are centered around the common core standards, and all of which are centered around problem-solving. Medea Creek, however, has centered its curricula around problem-solving longer than I’ve been employed by them.In addition, I coach our school's MathCounts Club. Met with students weekly and managed their learning of a variety of courses spanning 6th through 12th grades. Courses included all levels of Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies along with a variety of elective courses.Created a syllabus for every course in the program. Prior to transferring schools I was in the process of creating unit projects in many of the 6-8th grade science and social studies courses that would be an alternative way of showing mastery of the material.Focused on teaching students how to learn in an organized and efficient way. Since every person learns differently there was never a time that I wasn't challenged to find a new method of retaining knowledge for the long term.

Used HTML and Javascript to develop websites for celebrities, including Melanie Griffith, Tom Arnold, Catherine Bell, among others. Used my time rebuilding most of the developed websites using complex table structures so that each site would look exactly the same in each of the web browsers of the time.
