Dr. Shields’ technical career began at Bell Laboratories, improving usability of network connection tools. At Bank of America, he managed building and deployment of a major electronic funds transfer system. With a cross-functional team at Aldus Corp., he began electronic commerce and delivered the first multiple product CD-ROMs. He also managed Aldus’ first automated customer survey system. As a consultant, he designed systems to collect data to support a variety of business enhancements. Dr. Shields was a Professor at Shoreline Community College and University of Maryland and adjunct at several other institutions.
