LeadingAge's mission is to provide legislative/regulatory advocacy, research and promote innovative care practices, and education for the industry, in addition to offering procurement efficiencies, negotiated contract pricing and expertise to members through their national GPO and the Michigan Business Alliance.Regional Purchasing Consultant (MI, IN, OH)Consulted with healthcare member executives and clinical leadership to assess excess costs, procurement inefficiencies, and identify provide procurement solutions (medical supplies, pharmacy, rehabilitation, foodservice, environmental) that enhance financial performance, identify efficiencies, and streamline vendor contracts. Responsibilities:• Consulted with LTC healthcare providers to educate providers, identify efficiencies and reduce procurement costs• Performed cost analysis, presented savings/value opportunities, executed negotiated pricing contracts• Led the Business Alliance Board activities/engagement, and initiated vendor RFP and contract initiatives • Developed strong healthcare provider and vendor relationships• Negotiated and maintained several vendor custom contracts for Pharmacy, Rehabilitation Therapy, Restoration and Energy servicesAccomplishments: • Saved providers hundreds of thousands of dollars, improved provider margins in a challenging industry• Initiated Collaboration between providers and vendors• Strengthened provider member relationships with the association
