I have held two different positions at Seattle Children's Hospital as an Athletic Trainer. The first was an Athletic Trainer at a high school in the Tacoma school district. I was responsible for the the safety of athletes, communicated with a diverse population of students and families, managed a small budget, organized documentation and maintain a calm and trusting demeanor in high pressure situations. The second position I have held at Seattle Children's Hospital is a clinical athletic trainer in the physicians practice. In this position I work in a clinical role directly with the Sports Medicine Pediatricians. In this current role I have learned to manage the time of my physician, contribute to a cohesive team environment, communicate with families and administrators, and learn to problem solve in high stakes situations. This role as also allowed me to dive into more administrative tasks such as leading meetings, helping organize large events, and creating presentations for medical symposiums. I have also been on teams responsible for taking ideas and implementing them in the workplace.

While a graduate student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa I was the lead Athletic Trainer for PAC 5 Athletics and a research assistant for our faculty and doctorate students. As the Athletic Training lead for PAC 5, I was responsible for budget management, leading team meetings, delegation of roles for two other Athletic Trainers, and daily tasks of an Athletic Trainer. In this position, I communicated with 19 private school administrators who made up the governing body of PAC 5. This position was unique in a way that I was constantly on the move and needed to continuously be creative with the care I provided to the student-athletes. While in this position I was able to secure a new electronic medical records system, create policies and procedures for our team, and keep the program evolving with new technologies.
