I'm an expert immersive storyteller with more than a decade's experience building emotional immersion across XR, VR and immersive theatre. I consult on interactive narratives and design award-winning immersive experiences. I wrote & voice-directed ‘A Fisherman’s Tale’ (Game of the Year, VR Awards ‘19) & its sequel (Best XR Game, European XR Awards ‘23), and co-wrote with J.K. Rowling the groundbreaking, platinum-selling AR PlayStation game ‘Wonderbook: Book of Spells’ & its sequel ‘Book of Potions’.I wrote the pioneering HoloLens experience ‘SlushPolis Story’ (Future of Storytelling Prize ‘15) and was Content Editor of the multi-award-winning mobile game ‘80 Days’ (TIME’s Game of the Year ‘15). I've written a broad range of VR games and training projects including conflict zone training for journalists and the world’s first accredited VR business masterclass (‘Gemba’, with Peter Hines, now used by Nike and Coca-Cola).I'm a pioneer of Mixed Reality theatre, and have acted as a digital dramaturg for companies including dreamthinkspeak, Luna Cinema and National Theatre of Malta. As founder and Creative Director of AR design studio Playlines, I directed the ‘Augmented Gallery', a major arts installation for London’s West End in partnership with Britain’s largest art galleries. I directed ‘The Magical Gallery’, a unique layer of education and gameplay installed within London's National Gallery for Netflix and My Little Pony. I also co-devised and directed the groundbreaking AR hip-hop opera ‘CONSEQUENCES’ (Official Selection, Raindance ‘19).I'm currently a Visiting Fellow at King’s College London. I lecture widely on XR storytelling, location-based digital narrative, and the ethics of augmenting reality.

Visiting FellowKing'S College London Feb 2022 - PresentMy research focuses on location-based digital design and XR applications for urban public space, with a focus on the newly-pedestrianised Strand-Aldwych area of Central London. I've worked with KCL and Courtauld Institute students to co-develop a groundbreaking prototype location-based AR heritage exhibit highlighting Queer Victorian icons Fanny and Stella. I'm currently developing a Digital Curation Roadmap document for Strand-Aldwych as an exemplar of 'digitised public space'. -
