Leading and driving projects on centralised configuration and unified control management of a distributed infrastructure supporting a self-maintained environment for a Tomcat hosted Java application with MS SQL back-end database and indexing services- Promote and support of the “Infrastructure as Code” approach and DevOps culture: centralised configuration management with Puppet servers, test-driven development of maintenance scripts in Ruby, automating deployment processes with Capistrano- Conceptual design and implementation of configuration control of > 160 geographically distributed Linux systems with Puppet. - Development of the in-house quantum chemical code ReSpect for calculation of the NMR and EPR parameters (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance and Electronic Paramagnetic Resonance)- Configuration and maintenance of Linux computational clusters: a distributed network cluster of 30 multiprocessor PCs and a high-performance highly available 40-node Beowulf cluster. Ensuring clusters’ continuous operation and constant availability with apprehensive setup and automated backup procedures.

- Improved computational efficiency of the module used for integration in the in-house quantum chemical code ReSpect- Extended the range of NMR and EPR properties and methods available for computation with ReSpect- Provided visualisation of the computed data by interfacing ReSpect with the available graphical packages Molden- Maintenance of the Linux computational workstations, arrangement of their interoperation with Windows PCs by means of the Samba server

- SunOS campus mail server performance optimisation- Set up and maintenance of the primary DNS and SQUID proxy servers- Configuration & support of the dedicated Linux routers serving as gateways to the academic network
