The conception, design, build and deployment of a wave energy power-take off system. The system included the specification and hand building of a hydraulic driven system with real-time feedback driven by a 10kW electric motor. The system was designed to be controlled by Matlab allowing damping and spring forces to be emulated as desired. The system was successfully used at Plymouth University by an industrial partner.

As part of a Masters' level module in atmospheric fluid dynamics, I delivered a course on using the open source CFD solver OpenFOAM. The course included basic tuition on using Linux operation systems, followed by how to develop a script based CFD model of the dispersion of hot air from a chimney into an oncoming air current.
