Over five years at Meister-Cadmus, I worked on clean energy policy planning and implementation in a number of ways. A few projects that I’m particularly proud of are:Leading city-level clean energy planning efforts, such as King County, Washington's Renewable Electricity Transition Plan, and Bloomfield, Iowa's energy independence roadmap. Collaborating with a range of leading energy foundations and non-profits to provide expert technical assistance to cities on renewable energy topics.Managing solar market development and capacity building efforts in six Indian states through the GIZ I-SMART program, a multi-year collaboration between the German and Indian governments to aggregate demand for rooftop solar and to streamline state-level solar policy.Providing solar energy policy technical assistance to local governments nationwide through the US DOE Solar Outreach Partnership and throughout New York State through the NYSERDA PV Trainers Network. We help communities go solar, whether by developing a municipal-owned solar project, managing a community outreach campaign for rooftop solar, or improving planning and zoning processes to reduce barriers in the market.Leading efforts to develop Renewable Heating & Cooling policy frameworks with state governments in New York and Rhode Island.Expanding the use of community-based solar purchasing models — such as Solarize and Community Solar — into communities nationwide.Assisting a dozen rural electric cooperatives nationwide in developing on-bill financing programs that target home energy retrofits in low-income, high consumption homes by providing custom financial analysis.Helping progressive corporations understand options for purchasing clean energy purchasing and the enabling policies that can expand these options.

Collaborated on energy planning efforts in Cambridge, Massachusetts (developing a multifamily energy efficiency pilot program designed to confront split incentive problems) and Benham, Kentucky (leading to a residential energy efficiency revolving loan fund and pursuing custom energy retrofits and distribution upgrades for a rural municipal electric utility).Organized and led MIT’s winning team in the 2013 DOE Better Buildings Case Competition, proposing a clean energy policy approach for the city of Fort Worth, Texas.Contributor to the MIT Energy Efficiency Strategy Project and MIT Science Impact Collaborative, chair of the MIT Wind Energy Community.

Developed a renewable energy procurement plan for the City of San Francisco’s CleanPowerSF program, including a feed-in tariff and net energy metering tariff.
