Manages the operations of the emergency communications center. Supervises and evaluates staff, provides input in hiring and disciplinary action decisions. Schedules personnel to ensure adequate coverage of shifts and management staff, fills in as a communications specialist during staffing shortages.Monitors and tests communications and recording equipment and reports problems to appropriate personnel. Monitors various trouble alarms and takes appropriate action as directed by policies and procedures. Creates and maintains programs to improve and enhance the operations of the emergency communications center. Establishes and maintains operating procedures and policies for daily operations, proposes revisions to the county emergency services system medical and operational protocols and other enactments pertaining to emergency services. Develops and maintains quality assurance programs for all emergency service departments and agencies. Reviews call information for complaints or recognition, investigates complaints about emergency services and coordinates responses with appropriate agencies, serves as the liaison between the county and contracted emergency medical services provider, and works with the medical director. Reviews and recommends improvement to the system status management plans. Recommends and assists in the preparation of new equipment and coordinates installation. Purchases equipment, software and supplies for daily operations, assists in budget preparation, training programs, and coordinates with neighboring counties as needed. Coordinates activities of the ECC during emergencies. Prepares and maintains statistical data, maintains payroll records, and works in remote communications command post areas. Interacts with the public in an effective and courteous manner. Performs role in the County’s disaster preparation and disaster recovery efforts, as designated in the CEMP.

Serves as the Assistant Operations Sergeant in an Infantry Battalion, comprised of 4 Infantry Companies, a Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC), and a Foward Support Company in 4 separate locations throughout Northeast Indiana, with an assigned strength of over 600 Soldiers; conducts operations and training on full spectrum operations; assists the Senior Operations Sergeant in the planning, preparation, and execution of combat training missions; enforces tactical and Soldier discipline; supervises and assists the Battalion Schools, Training, and DTS programs; prepares the TOC for orders, drills, briefs, and rehearsals; receives and appropriately handles and distributes OPRORDs, FRAGOs, and Serious Incident Reports (SIRs); responsible for the accountability, maintenance and readiness of equipment in excess of $1million; responsible for the health, welfare, training and operational readiness of 2 NCO's and 8 Soldiers in the section; performs duties for the Operations Sergeant Major in his absence.

Serves as the full-time AGR Readiness NCO of a Heavy Weapons Company, responsible for unit administration, readiness, reports, and training; prepares correspondence, handles suspense times, and resources training; advises the Company Commander and First Sergeant on Soldier issues; acts as the Company Commander's day-to-day spokesperson; supervises 4 AGR Soldiers and 20 traditional M-Day Soldiers; serves as M-Day Operations NCO; daily duties include handling pay issues, coordinating with higher and sister units for upcoming training, creating training schedules, preparing Soldiers and equipment for drill weekend.

Directs the tactical and technical training and deployment of a Scout Reconnaissance Platoon assigned to a Scout Reconnaissance Troop within a Reconnaissance & Surveillance Squadron of a Battlefield Surveillance Brigade (BfSB); responsible for the health, morale, welfare, discipline, individual and collective training, and the professional development of four NCO's and 12 Soldiers; additionally responsible for the operational readiness, maintenance, and accountability of all assigned vehicles, weapons, equipment and BII valued in excess of $8,000,000, advises scout platoon leader on all procedures, training, administrative actions and enlisted matters.

Tactical Fire Officer responsible for the health and well-being of assigned firefighters on assigned shift. Supervises the mitigation and operations of the tactical fire ground and scene stability. Oversees the safe and efficient operations of rescue incidents. Assists with medical care of patients to appropriate level of expertise and to next level of care. Supervises daily shift duties on station, writes reports and coordinates training as required.
