I’ll keep this brief as I can and anyone who is interested can message me. I hired on at Allison transmission two months after graduating high school. I’m now in my 15 th year with Allison transmission. I have went from cleaning floors to being a machinist to being a setup man setting up all types of machinery to blueprints throughout the facility. Ultimately landing in the joint training program between the uaw and the company. In this position I work with hourly workers just beginning their career to seasoned workers training them in more skilled jobs. I also train engineers designers and salary folks who want to know more about the production work in the facility.I’m currently on a waiting list to join the skilled trades program within the facility. In my home life I run a 40 acre ranch. I work on all my own equipment from tractors and mowers all the way to my hobby muscle car/personal vehicles. I cut my own firewood with a 10lb maul and wedges. All wood harvested on the property. I try and be as self sufficient as possible all the way down to food harvested off this land or the bordering national forest.
