As a young child, school brought much-needed structure into my life, and the library was a place I could explore all my nerdy curiosities. I couldn’t decide on just one of these pathways for my career, so I decided to merge them together.I am uniquely trained as a professional librarian as well as a high school math and English teacher. And I'm equally excited about educational technology, media and information literacy, and mindfulness and well-being across the school community! I also have extensive experience supporting TK-12 educators in our vast, rural community through coaching, workshops, conferences and other professional learning opportunities. In my career I have loved working with both teen and adult learners. I’m especially passionate about the creative aspects of teaching: developing curriculum and learning experiences that truly engage students, nurture their curiosity, and help them develop as compassionate and motivated citizens of the world. Equity, inclusion, and belonging infused into pedagogy for all students is one of my deepest core values.Currently I’m serving my community as a public librarian and am a fellow with the California Global Education Project’s 2024 Teacher Fellowship program, exploring the use of children's literature to support the development of global citizenship in young children.Contact me if you are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated educator to add to your team.
