After coming back to the United States from Morocco, I returned to teach Social Studies at Meridian High School. Here, I taught mostly 9th grade (two classes: "Contemporary World Problems" and "World History"). I also taught one year of 10th grade Civics. For the "World History" class, I was a team member that reviewed, created, and implemented a new curriculum. We used the OER Projects "1200-Present" as the foundation of our course, but supplemented additional materials in throughout the year as well. I was also a member of the "9th Grade Success Team" which worked to identify barriers in 9th grade student success and implement strategies to help students become more successful.

Worked for 1.5 years as a teacher overseas. The first half-year (January 2020-June 2020) I filled in a 5th grade classroom where the previous teacher left over winter break. The second year (June 2020-June 2021) I worked as a Middle School Social Studies teacher teaching 6th grade Ancient Civilizations and 7th grade World Geography. Both of these years were teaching part-time in person and part-time remote due to Covid-19.

For three years, worked as a full-time English teacher. I taught four different classes in my time as an English Teacher: 10th Grade English, American Literature, AP Literature, and Bridge to College English. Bridge to College was a new class where we worked to prepare students for English 101 at a community college or universtiy.

I was a student teacher in Mr. Kurz's Social Studies classes at Meridian High School. My student teaching internship is a fourteen week program where I work full-time within the classroom from the first day of school until the students leave for winter break. The first few weeks involve me observing and learning the students and teaching styles used in the class. By week three I begin to fully start taking over classes completely planning, teaching, grading, etc. everything the class does. By week five I will be teaching every single class until about Thanksgiving break when I begin to start transitioning the classes back over to my cooperating teacher, Mr. Kurz. This opportunity allows me to practice and perfect my teaching strategies and curriculum ideas I have been learning about and working on the whole past year while being a student at the Woodring College of Education.

As a practicum student I work in Mr. Sage's seventh grade social studies class. Some of my essential duties include; teaching whole class lessons, working individually or in small groups to catch students up, grade assignments, among many other things.
