Upon arriving in Melbourne our family found ourselves at LIFE Melbourne. My brother-in-law invited me to join the media team before even arriving in Melbourne. Starting with photos on my first week, video not long after, now running the photo team, online technical director, and main director and cam operator for video content. I keep myself busy and engaged in a lot of aspects of the weekly running of the church services. This role includes rostering of teams, story creation, and planning, editing of photos and videos, liaising with NZ teams to create a consistent look across all campuses and also having fun.

Making the transition from in-person to online broadcasting of services. This bought along with it a new challenge but also an exciting opportunity on what we can create. Communicating with the 4 camera operators, lighting, graphics, lyrics teams, and the Technical Director. Switching between, live content, pre-recorded videos, still content to create an engaging service.This role requires following a tight schedule, problem-solving, managing multiple groups of people, capturing quality content and leadership.

I work with clients from the early conception/ idea phase through to the final product stage in order to produce content that is aligned with their vision and to share their stories. The majority of my work is with corporate clients, including Nous Group, TransUrban, and Jetstar. I work with them and advise them on how to create and deliver creative and engaging content for them to use to deliver clear, fun, and quality messages to their staff and/or customers. This is done in a variety of ways including piece-to-camera conversations with CEO’s, interviews, sharing stories of overcoming challenges and breakthroughs, and helping clients to attract new customers and sell products through social media platforms. I have recently worked with Jetstar across a number of their projects to produce content to communicate new policies for internal purposes, sharing how they travel to work in this new “work from home” mentality and highlighting the work occurring in their new engineering base and it’s associated upgrades. 2020 provided opportunities as well as challenged the videography space. During Melbourne lockdowns, I worked with a faith-based organization to deliver live streaming on a weekly basis as well as produced weekly videos for them with tight deadlines. In order to comply with guidelines, I worked with the team to develop ways of working that meant content could be produced in covid-safe ways. This included, at times, setting up videography equipment so that the speaker could press start and end for me to collect the raw footage and offsite turn this into content for them to use. I was acknowledged for my flexibility of work and my resourcefulness for overcoming challenges.
