About Ryan Self
Since graduating summa cum laude from Abilene Christian University (TX), Ryan Self has helped grow organizations' communications and marketing efforts, oftentimes from the ground up. As the first publicist at ACU Press and Leafwood Publishers, Ryan introduced several new efforts, including two websites built from scratch, in order to effectively reach potential customers and spread the word about the 30-35 books the press published each year. By building relationships with reporters, radio and television producers, bloggers, and other important audiences, Ryan secured more than 300 media interviews for authors, dozens of print reviews, and other important impressions helping drive sales and increase awareness.During his time at the Bush School at Texas A&M, he has brought his marketing and communications skills in order to greatly enhance the communications efforts of the Bush School SGA and the Texas A&M University Career Closet. As a graduate assistant within the Bush School Office of Communications and External Relations, he worked with faculty, staff, students, and the executive leadership in order to help promote the Bush School through regular news articles, media relations, video development, brochure and advertising materials, and newsletter production.
