I conducted a cohort study that utilized electronic health records to evaluate the association between asthma and the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection among children, and to evaluate for effect modification by asthma type using propensity score matching. Research was carried out in collaboration with clinicians from the Department of Pediatrics and culminated in a published manuscript.

• Collaborated with two infectious disease scientists to re-analyze three latent tuberculosis treatment trials and provide statistical guidance for using Bayesian methods to analyze future trials• Conducted Bayesian, MCMC simulations in R that incorporated uncertainties in test characteristics, including sensitivity and specificity of enrollment tests, and key clinical parameters, including efficacy of treatment• Presented on weekly progress and troubleshooted analyses at meetings with collaborating scientists• Created a decision-analytic Markov model in TreeAge, a programming software, and used microsimulations, a machine learning method, to model treatment options and compare outcomes of the treatment regimens using results from the Bayesian simulations• Compiled results into a presentation and reusable programming documents for use by the collaborating scientists for a future manuscript

Americorps Term of Service - Taught and mentored 80+ eleventh graders from first generation college student backgrounds at Central High School and Washington Technology Magnet School in St. Paul, MN with a goal of closing the degree divide. Led sessions and office hours on ACT preparation, college/career knowledge, summer program applications, essay writing, paying for potential colleges, and developing a growth mindset. Utilized different learning styles to achieve high engagement with students in-person and virtually. Communicated with the National Office including the President, donors, and team at-large to discuss effectiveness of program.

Streamlined data management by creating excel extract definitions to pull data stored in intermediary database and push into company’s database and used SQL to verify accurate data retrieval. Conducted data monitoring and quality assurance of data from state tobacco cessation programs using SAS. Performed investigative analysis to detect unusual values and trends in data from clients.

Greater Denver Area

Through a grant from the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH) - Researched the efficacy of once v. twice daily dosage of Lisinopril (an antihypertensive drug) at reducing systolic and diastolic blood pressure by analyzing data from UC Health. Investigated how dosage helped aid patients in reaching a "controlled" blood pressure by building several models while controlling for patient demographics and measurements. The research was completed with collaboration from pharmacists, faculty, and CoSibs students at UC Denver and culminated with a presentation of findings and recommendations at the Biostatistics Symposium.

Communicated with over 150 patients to ensure most current contact and medical information were captured. Evaluated outreach and clinic programs by conducting patient surveys and a focus group and performing data entry and analysis based on feedback. Initiated a text messaging program to ensure patients attended appointments by coordinating with staff and vendors.
