My principal role was in the supervision and management of coal greenfields and brownfields exploration in the Bowen Basin, Queensland.Key responsibilities:- - Supervising two drill rigs and three drilling teams on a rotational basis. This included liaising with drilling contractors to coordinate drill rig movement, giving drilling instructions, signing off on daily operating reports to authorise what drilling activities could be billed.- Monitoring Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) at work sites.- Conducting drill-hole logging up to 1200m in depth, soil and rockchip geochemical sampling, geophysical program management and line of oxidation sampling.- Ensuring that all necessary records are collated and filed in accordance with company procedures and policy, and statutory requirements.- Supervising other contract teams including geophysical loggers and working closely with field assistants.- Reporting daily to senior exploration geologists.- Working autonomously and remotely under minimal supervision.- Managing boreholes from planning to final rehabilitation.- Mentoring and training of new grads with fieldwork duties, and in-office geologic data programs.
