I moved to the UK at the beginning of 2019 and started my journey with Rapport four months later in April. My first role at Rapport was in corporate reception as a Front of House Coordinator, but as of March 2020, I am now the Talent & Culture manager. A big part of my job is about fostering an inclusive and empowering culture for our Ambassadors.I have over three years’ experience with Tasplan Super (Tasmania) in Facilities and Corporate Services, adding to my other experience in supportive roles. As the business went through multiple mergers and evolved, there became a greater need to be more resourceful and responsive so that all the departments could work more effectively and without interruption. Over the three that I worked in facilities, I also assisted marketing, governance, compliance, HR and organised events. I have completed an advanced excel course and a confident communications workshop.Community involvement, inclusion and diversity is important to me. I worked hard as chair of the Social Club at Tasplan Super to create a fun and inclusive environment for all our staff. I am always participating in projects and events at Rapport. Some of my involvement includes the Rapport choir, the LGBTQ & Allies forum, Pink Ambassadors, charity fun runs and any team projects within our contract at Broadgate. I enjoy being part of organisations, such as Women in Super, which promote diversity and work hard to reach equality in our society.I was secretary of a special sub-committee of the local council (Glenorchy City Concert Brass) and Chair of the Tasplan Social Club. I also have many years’ experience heading departments and working on production teams for some high-profile Tasmanian theatre productions. Through my role as secretary of Glenorchy City Concert Brass, I have gained substantial experience in correspondence, travel coordination, taking minutes, leadership and prioritising work. My role was not only to comply with our legal obligations, but to provide a clear and engaging direction for the band. I studied Law and International Relations as UTAS for 5 years. I also worked in Student Legal Services in an advisory role and did work experience for a barrister. During this time, I had to perform a lot of research in a timely and concise manner. With my legal background I have learnt to work quickly and accurately. I also have a professional mentor who has helped me learn to run meetings more efficiently and deal with a variety of personalities within committees and organisations.
