- Collaborated with physicians and principle investigators on the development of novel surgical techniques and devices:-- First assisted interventional radiologists during percutaneous access and long-term portal vein catheter placement and transarterial chemoembolization of hepatic tumors-- Performed rabbit femoral artery and vein cutdown and catheterizations utilized for IR procedures. -- Aided cardiac electrophysiology ablation labs and emergency medicine chemical warfare studies by performing swine carotid, jugular vein, and femoral vessel cutdown and catheterizations, running anesthesia, and assisting with CPR. -- Contributed to ophthalmologic studies by performing intravitreal injections, slit lamp evaluations, ocular implant placements, and enucleations. - Supervised the initiation of newly approved surgical protocols and ensured humane care and use of animals- Instructed University of Colorado bioengineering labs, including; anesthesia, aseptic technique, suturing, and rodent laparotomy- Coordinated and led sentinel health monitoring program, as well as implemented semiannual serologic testing to improve efficiency and reduce animal use. - Performed anesthetic induction, intubation, maintenance, and recovery of animals utilized for biomedical research - Presented Abstract at Academy of Surgical Research Conference, 2016: “Maintenance of a Swine Model with Chronic Indwelling Catheters for Total Parenteral Nutrition”
