I am an ELA and math tutor for students in grades K-5.

I taught fourth grade for two school years. In this position, I was responsible for creating lesson plans that align with Virginia SOLs, interpreting data to determine students' areas of need, leading content-area meetings, maintaining a positive classroom environment through the use of classroom management, and completing grades and report cards.

I taught a second grade class while completing graduate school. I was responsible for creating phonics lessons, adapting all lessons to meet the needs of my students while following Virginia SOLs, and completing grades and report cards. I taught concurrently, with some students in the building and some online.

I taught English to children ages four to fifteen in China through an online total immersion program. I utilized techniques such as creating a positive classroom environment, scaffolding vocabulary and new material, and used props to provide meaning for words.
