Over the last twenty years, I have built a reputation within the legal community of being a hardworking problem solver with strong technical, writing and editing skills.In 2021, I was delighted to transition into legal marketing after accepting a position as client proposals specialist. I spend most of my workday managing the complex process of assembling pitches and proposals--collecting input from subject matter experts, identifying existing content that's relevant, writing new language and editing all of the above to tell a compelling story--all while drawing on and further expanding my knowledge of corporate legal work.My tenure in the legal industry began in 1996, when as a part-time file clerk for a two-partner law firm off Dupont Circle I found myself traipsing all over Washington, D.C. to file pleadings in at least five different courthouses. In 1997, I became a legal secretary at a top-tier lobbying firm, and in the years following, I served individual and corporate clients while employed by large, mid-sized and small firms--learning the ins and outs of legal practice areas ranging from personal injury, estate planning and common pleas to corporate immigration, bankruptcy and commercial finance. I helped open a wildly successful local office for a U.S.-based international law firm, and I have directly supported a firm president, a department chair, a couple practice group leaders and members of firm executive, finance and compensation committees.Though I wasn't always sure where my journey was heading, my experience has ideally positioned me to work in legal marketing.
