  Responsibilities focus on secure distributed systems and computer network communication protocols. Most recently, she has also served in an internal project analyzing the impact of compliance with new government security requirements for unclassified systems. For the last two decades, her principal focus has been open standards based solutions for the security of Internet infrastructure protocols. She served as program manager for a sequence of projects in the last decade involving Internet routing security, in the Department of Homeland Security's Secure Protocols for the Routing Infrastructure program. She has served since 2006 as the working group co-chair for a routing security working group in the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the international open standards body for Internet protocols. Earlier, she participated in enhancements in the DETER advanced security testbed facility and contributed to requirements analysis and architecture of a testbed for the evaluation of management protocols for cryptographic devices.
