I am a student at Purdue University studying Psychological Sciences. After attaining this degree, I plan to pursue an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy.As a summer camp counselor at Flat Rock YMCA Camp, I worked with children to explore their abilities and grow their confidence. Specifically working within the equestrian (ranch) program, I had the opportunity to reach great milestones with campers in a difficult, and sometimes daunting, recreational activity. By working closely with campers ages 7-16, I was able to inspire confidence while promoting inclusion and engagement of all individuals.Beginning in 2020, I volunteered at the Indianapolis Zoo as a Zoo Teen Naturalist. In this position, I educated guests of all ages and backgrounds about the different animals at the zoo. This position requires a great amount of knowledge to do effectively, and because I am a fast learner, this part of the job comes with ease. Besides the general education aspect of the position, Zoo Teen Naturalists must also offer exceptional customer service skills and be able to assist guests when needed.
