I am currently working at the Broad Institute’s POD Covid-19 clinical diagnostic laboratory, where I’ve gained experience with working in a BL2/BL2+ laboratory setting, using a LIM system, handling patient PHI, preparing and plating reagents for nucleic acid extraction, and operating automation machinery for nucleic acid extraction procedures. I graduated in December 2019 from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. My long-term interests are in the mechanisms and applications of genetics, genomics and molecular biology, and applying the knowledge and techniques of those fields towards the development of diagnostic or therapeutic applications. I feel comfortable in lab settings and have had an exposure to a wide variety of laboratory techniques, and I enjoy the collaborative, communicative and problem-solving atmosphere of research labs.
