I'm extremely proud of my 29 years of local government service in the communities of Merced and Atwater. It's deeply satisfying to know my participation with the many teams members I've had the pleasure of working with during this period have led to tangible improvements in the community and positively affected many residents. Having a wide variety of roles and responsibilities within these organizations and working from entry level to executive management has been humbling. I appreciate my valley roots which have shaped and guided me professionally. Having grown up in an Air Force family led me to a path of public service. Being connected to the valley since birth sealed my commitment to serving this community. This community has been a wonderful environment for my family. My wife Jennifer has been a distinguished Merced College Professor and lead in the Rising Scholars Program. She's also been a long term advisor to the local Alpha Gamma Sigma honor society. My daughters Gwynne and Erin grew up in local pools being recognized as all stars, All Americans, First Team members, and many other honors for swimming and water polo. They have now completed bachelor degrees at California State University Monterey Bay and Fresno and are completing graduate degrees. I hope they can use their local grown experiences to make positive changes where ever and in what ever capacity that best suits them.I continue to look forward to the challenges and rewards of being a local government manager for many more years to come. I'm very excited about transformative changes that will result from the City of Merced's annexation of the University of California Merced campus, significant investment in affordable housing, continued focus on Downtown Merced, building equity and opportunity, and planning for the future including new opportunities from the location of rail and stations within the community.
