Mechanical Research Associate
Tasked with the mechanical design of a 6U CubeSat payload and bus structure. The spacecraft payload, a pressure vessel which functions as a gamma-ray detector, was designed to be a CubeSat version of the Advanced Energetic Pair Telescope (AdEPT). Model simulations were run to predict the performance and integrity of the payload design. An engineering model was then constructed to test both the actual performance of the payload, as well as it's integration into the Canisterized Satellite Dispenser (CSD; satellite deployer)

I worked with a team to connect engineering and production by maintaining the on-going lifecycle of WESCAM imaging and targeting sensor systems. By setting up metrics to measure the efficiency and failure points of the department's process, we were able to provide reccomendations to mitigate further inefficiencies and improve productivity.

My focus at the Lab of Applied MultiPhase Thermal Engineering (LAMTE) was a research project sponsored by Intel Corporation, designing an experimental setup to analyze and study the thermal behaviour of tablet computers. The purpose of the experiment was to develop a novel temperature control technology using phase-change materials for tablet computers and handheld devices.• Benchmark analysis of commercial devices to verify Matlab thermal models• LabVIEW programming, used to mimic the operation of a tablet handheld • Solidworks, design of experimental setup • Machine shop work, construction and assembly of setup (bandsaw, CNC, drill press)• Experimental testing and validation (data recording and analysis)• Co-authored a paper "Thermal Management of Portable Electronics Using Phase Change Materials: Initial Experiments", which was submitted and accepted to the PRTEC - Pacific Rim Thermal Engineering Conference
